Video of an Aerostar 6 Meter Running

The following video clip shows an Aerostar 6 Meter wind turbine running on a 120 foot guyed tilt tower. The video demonstrates how quiet the turbine is. The wind velocity is varying from about 10 to 20 MPH. The person taking the video was standing about 20 feet from the end of the gin pole. This is about 50 feet away from the tower base. You can clearly hear a couple of people talking, but you can not hear the wind turbine. There is no perceptable sound at all coming from the wind turbine. Also notice now smoothly the two blade rotor runs. There is no vibration in either the turbine or the tower.

Another Video of a 6 Meter Running in a 30+ MPH Wind.

Notice clouds moving quickly by in this video and the trees swaying. The wind was blowing 20 to 25 MPH and gusting to more than 30 MPH. Although the wind makes considerable noise in the microphone, there is little to no noise caused by the turbine. Because all Aerostar turbines use constant speed rotors, they become even quieter in high winds. The Aerostar rotor is always turning at the same speed regardless of the wind speed. Compare this to a variable speed turbine where the blade speed increases in high winds. Variable speed turbine blades can rotate 2-3 times faster in high winds than in low winds and some of the noiser models can sound like an assault helicopter landing in your backyard.
