NEW COLOR TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY. All of our standard control boxes now include a color touchscreen display. The display includes a number of preconfigured screens that will provide you with the information that you need to know about the operation of your turbine. Standard screens include the following:
1. KW Production, Windspeed and Generator RPM.
2. Max values such as maximum wind speed, maximum kW and maximum generator RPM.
3. Average values for the last 10 minutes and the last hour, including average wind speed, average kW and average kWH.
4. KW Generated, KW Imported from Grid, KW Exported to Grid, KW Used, KW Purchased.
5. Several graph pages showing wind speed and kW values plotted in real time and averaged over time.
On the graph display shown above, the screen updates every second and scrolls to the left. The most recent event is on the right edge of the screen. A total of two minutes of data is visible. Instantaneous power in kW is on the right scale and windspeed in MPH on the left scale. You can see the relatively high variability in wind speeds over short intervals. The wind is varying from 7-8 MPH to over 20 MPH in a matter of seconds. You can also clearly see the exponential relationship between wind speed and power generation. The power jumps from about 1 kW to t 8 kW in about 10 seconds (red peak at 140-150 seconds) with a wind speed increase from about 10 MPH to 20 MPH.
Detailed information on power usage of your house, farm or business and the kW that you feed back into the grid are standard with every Aerostar wind system. You can store virtually unlimited amounts of data on the CF card and you can look back to see how much power you produced, used or sent back into the grid on any date or between any two dates. You will also be able to recall average wind speeds for these periods, highest wind gusts and the standard deviation of average wind speeds. You can set the recording interval of stored data from one minute to one hour. All of the information is shown on the color LCD touchscreen. Data is stored on a CF card that can be removed and read into a PC or laptop. Data files are stord in CSV format and can be imported into an EXCEL spreadsheet.
Another option that is available is a web server module that will allow you to view data such as wind speed and kW output in real time on your computer, any computer on your network or even from work if you have a static IP address. Another advantage of this option is that we can upgrade your control software from our factory at no charge to you so you will always have the latest software available.
