Utility Company Rating   Aerostar is currently working on a project for our website and we need your help. We are trying to compile a database of utility companies and their small wind policies. We would like to post this information publicly on our website to give our clients a better idea of what to expect during the interconnection process. We are primarily interested in knowing if the utility companies that you have worked with support small wind, if they are neutral or if they are uncooperative and place impediments in the way of small wind interconnection.  As small wind professionals we would appreciate YOUR support by providing some basic information regarding your experiences with the utility companies you have worked with. The turbine used is not important, what is important is the quality of the service both you and your clients received during the interconnection process.  We will not publish your name or company name and will treat your identity with confidentiality, unless you instruct us otherwise.

We are particularly interested in the following:

-          Utility Name

-          Contact Name

-          Contact #

-          Overall Rating Of Utility Company

-          Pro Wind Rating (1 worst -10 best)

-          Were They Helpful?

-          Comments

Aerostar News

AWEA Small and Community Wind Conference & Exhibition   Aerostar recently attended the first Small and Community Wind Conference & Exhibition in Detroit. The show was a great success for us and the small wind industry in general. The exhibition was the first exclusive gathering of small wind manufacturers, dealers and supply chain companies. The show included conferences covering everything from installation 101 to wind turbine certification. This show represents an important milestone in the rapidly growing small and community wind industry.  We were pleased to see many of our dealers at the show.  We were very busy at our booth and we would like to thank some of our dealers for helping man the booth, particularly Jeff Duiguid  of Moyer Process and Control who spent many hours talking with prospective customers and others. If you attended, we are sure you will agree with us that the show was a very important event for small wind.  The next Small and Community Wind Conference & Exhibition will be in Portland, OR December 2010.

The Website Has Changed   We are currently in the process of updating the website www.aerostarwind.com. There have been dramatic changes to the layout and we hope you and your customers like them. Changes include the addition of photos, videos, news/press releases and reducing the amount of navigation tabs from a 27 to 13. Pages for the 6 Meter and Independence 30 have been created which will contain specifications, power production figures as well as photos and videos. The website will officially change over the weekend, so be sure to browse the site starting on Monday to see the new layout.

Dealer Contest   This month, we would like to have a little bit of fun by having a caption contest for the dealer that can come up with the best quote for the picture below. The winner of the contest will receive an official Aerostar Cap. In addition, the dealer with the winning quote will be posted on the website. Entries will be accepted for this contest until business close 12-17-09. The winner will be announced in the next dealer newsletter. If you have any wind related humor that is in reasonably good taste (comics, pictures, videos, ect.), please submit them and maybe your submission may be used in upcoming newsletters or even be posted on the website.  Small wind is not only profitable, but it can also be fun.

If you have customers wishing to join our reservation list, please submit your reservation as soon as possible to reduce your client’s lead time. All reservations must be accompanied by a fully refundable $500 deposit. The deposit amount will roll into the cost of the turbine so there is absolutely no risk.
