Incentives
As oil prices increase and global warming accelerates, it is no wonder that federal and state governments are begining to realize the importance of wind power and distributed power generation. Although many of these policies have a long way to go, some states such as New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Massachusetts and California, to name but a few, have taken significant steps to provide incentives for the installation of small wind systems.
Incentives can take many forms. Some jurisdictions have outright grants. Incentives can also include, sales tax waivers, property tax exemptions, tax credits, accelerated depreciation and other forms of incentives. For an up to date listing of what incentives are available in you locality, go to the DSIRE web site or click on the map at the right.
If you have a small business or farm, you may also be eligible for the USDA Renewable Energy Program which pays 25% of the project cost, up to $500,000. For further information, call Aerostar or your Aerostar dealer.
